Please pay attention to the new schedule to drop the application.

The application for the renewal must be submitted online

- at the soonest 120 days (4 months) before the expiry date of the current residence permit

- at the latest 60 days (2 months) before the expiry date of the current residence permit.


If you submit the application at a later date, your file will be processed but you will be charged a 180 euros late penalty fee by the Préfecture (on top of the 75€ tax).




Documents requested for online renewal or extension of your residence permit (after VLS TS or laminated card) 

 

  • E-photo to be made in photomaton or with specialised photographer
  • Copy of the passport identity page (make sure that the photograph appears clearly)
  •  Copy of your current residence permit (for those with long stay student visa: upload your visa + visa validation certificate + entry stamp in passport)
  • Recent proof of residence dated less than 3 months and valid for the next academic year as well, 3 options  

1. Alegessec accommodation certificate  

2. Rental agreement + last rent payment receipt

3. Accommodation  letter (“attestation d’hébergement”) that must be filled out by the person you  are staying with + copy of his / her identity card or residence permit + copy  of his / her last electricity bill and rental agreement

  • Enrollment certificate to request to your programme coordinator. It must specify the length of your study as well as your date of graduation and mention assiduity.
  • Last academic transcripts for all terms covered by your current residence permit, and any document proving your academic activity (internship contract, exchange certificate etc.) Prefecture expects evidence of student activities in order to issue a student residence permit.
  • Last diploma obtained in France if you never studied in France before, you can leave this open
  • Proof of sufficient financial resources 

Option 1, your own resources: 

Certificate from French bank account on your name of at least 7400 euro (attestation de solde /relevé de compte). Or a letter from your foreign bank showing the balance in euro of at least 7400 euro on your name + official translation into French

Option 2, You are supported by a third party: 

Letter from your family’s bank stating that a permanent bank transfer has been set up in your favor of minimum 615€ per month for the upcoming academic year + Sworn statement (attestation sur l’honneur) from third party stating the same + copy of their ID + Proof of bank transfer on your last 3 bank statements from your French bank + official translation into French of the document

Other possibilities: 

Scholarship: certificate with amount of at least 615€ per month + last 3 bank statements showing the scholarship 

Apprenticeship: APT+ contract + pay slips of minimum 615€ per month + last 3 bank statements 

If you are doing an internship: please contact us. You may be able to use your convention de stage for a part of the required recourses. You may need to combine it with other means.

 

Documents requested for a first laminated card after Minor Visa (once you are 18)

 

  • "information form" filled out and signed (see attachment on the bottom of the page)
  • 3 recent identity photos no smile, complete face uncovered, no hairband, no glasses (it should be passport-sized photos taken in France)
  • Copy of the passport identity page (make sure that the photograph  appears clearly)
  • Copy of your visa and airport stamp with the date of entry in France
  • Recent housing proof dated less than 3 months and valid for the next academic year as well, 3 options 
  1. Alegessec accommodation certificate

  3. Hosting attestation (“attestation d’hébergement”) that must be filled out by the person you  are staying with + copy of his / her identity card or residence permit + copy  of his / her last electricity bill and rental agreement
  • Copy of your Birth certificate (French translated version)
  • Enrollment certificate to request to your programme coordinator. It must specify the length of your study as well as your date of graduation and mention assiduity.
  • Official academic transcripts for the current year and any document proving your academic activity (internship contract copy, exchange attestation etc.) Prefecture expects evidence of student activities in order to issue a student residence permit.
