Canadian students who are staying in France longer than 6 months should apply for the social security in France. However, the procedure for students from Quebec is a bit different since there is an agreement between Quebec and France.
Before your arrival to France, you should contact the RAMQ directly to get the proper information on how to proceed.
If you have already arrived to France, you will need the following documents to apply for the social security:
- The form SE401Q106 (please see attached) or 102 BIS
- Copy of your passport
- Housing proof to justify your address in France
- RIB (French bank account details)
- Enrollment certificate - available on your My Registrar intranet
You will need to send the documents by the post to your local CPAM office by mentioning "A l'attention du service des relations internationales"
If you are living in Cergy or somewhere in 95, the address would be:
CPAM du Val d'Oise
A l'attention du service des relations internationales
95017 Cergy Pontoise Cedex
If you live in Paris, the address would be:
Assurance Maladie de Paris
A l'attention du service des relations internationales
75948 PARIS CEDEX 19
Your file will then be managed by the International Relations Service.
