[French Social Security] How to create my "Ameli" account for health coverage? / Compte Ameli Sécurité Sociale

"Ameli" is the name of the French Social Security website.

To create your Ameli account, you first have to 

- be registered at the French Social Security (Assurance Maladie = Health Insurance or French Social Security) 

- obtain your permanent French Social Security number (certified NIA)

You can create your Ameli account only with your permanent Social Security number, using the first 13 digits.  If for some reasons you can’t create your account, please call the English speaking CPAM hotline at 09 74 75 36 46 and they will need to give you a temporary code to create the account.
