Are you a Turkish national looking for a scholarship or funding? Below are several options to help you.

1. French Government Scholarships (BGF)

  • France Excellence Major Scholarships: If you graduated from a French high school in Turkey (e.g., Lycée Saint-Joseph, Notre-Dame de Sion, etc.) and achieved "Mention Bien" or "Très Bien" (Honors), you may be eligible for this AEFE scholarship. It is highly prestigious and covers a portion of both living expenses and tuition fees.

  • Scholarships from the French Embassy in Turkey: The French Institute in Turkey occasionally offers specific grants. While many are targeted at Master’s level, "Licence/Bachelor" programs do exist.

Process: Check the “Duyurular” (Announcements) section of the website regularly. The “France Excellence” call for applications for Master's programs is usually published in the spring or at the end of the year for the following year.

Contact the Campus France Turkey offices (located in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir) immediately.

2. Turkish Organizations (Private Sector and Foundations)

Turkey has powerful foundations that support international mobility:

  • TEV Foundation (Türk Eğitim Vakfı): This is the leading scholarship foundation in Turkey. It has co-funding agreements with the French Embassy. Although they often prioritize Master’s students, they offer excellence programs for brilliant undergraduate applicants.

Application period: usually from January to March/April each year.

Please note: look specifically for the section “TEV-Fransa Büyükelçiliği Fransa Yüksek Lisans Bursu” (French Embassy Master's Scholarship). Applications are often submitted online via their dedicated platform.

  • Vehbi Koç or Sabancı Foundations: These foundations sometimes support their own high school graduates or exceptional students for studies abroad.

3. Bank Loans (Turkey-Specific)

Certain Turkish banks (such as Yapı Kredi or İş Bankası) offer specific "Education Loans" for families whose children are going to study in Europe.

Our Advice: Check your eligibility on the Campus France search engine, Campus Bourses. By filtering for "Turkey" and "Licence Level" (Undergraduate), you will see all the open calls for applications for the September intake.
