I start my apprenticeship. What should I do regarding French Social Security?

Modified on Mon, 30 Mar at 10:27 AM

Please refer mainly to the intranet of the CFA of ESSEC which covers all the subjects you need to know.

ESSEC Apprenticeship Grande Ecole

Apprenticeship MS GAISC

Apprenticeship MS DAIM

Apprenticeship MSc in Hospitality Management - IMHI

Apprenticeship Global BBA

As an apprentice, you are insured and subject to the general social security system.  You benefit from the same social protection as an employee, in particular;

  • reimbursement of your care in the event of illness;
  • the payment of daily allowances in the event of sick leave, disability and death insurance benefits (subject to conditions for entitlement to applicable rights)

You are covered in the event of an accident at work or occupational disease, from the first day of your apprenticeship, whether the accident at work occurs at your workplace, at the CFA, or during the transit between your home and different apprentice sites.

What steps do I need to take?

You need to declare the change of your situation since you receive salary.  Please send the following documents to your local CPAM office by the post:

  • Form S1106
  • Copy of your Passport or ID card
  • Copy of your valid residence permit (for Non-European students)
  • Your last pay slip or employment contract
  • Your French bank account details (RIB)

Reminder:

Non-European students who are enrolled in France for the first time and hold a student residence permit in the form of a long stay student visa combined with the visa validation obtained upon arrival , may NOT do an apprenticeship during this first year. They must wait until they renew their residence permit and get their permit in the form of a laminated card before they become eligible for apprenticeship and the APT (see all the FAQs on that specific subject).
