· Students wishing to study in Switzerland must have a rather large budget in order to carry out their project.
1. ERASMUS Fellowship is replaced by MOVETIA for Switzerland.
Following Switzerland's exclusion from the Erasmus+ programme in 2014, a scholarship was created to compensate for the abolition of Erasmus+ scholarships. This scholarship issued by the Swiss government is awarded to any European student participating in a university exchange in Switzerland. Worth around €340/month for students, and €390/month for interns, this scholarship is not negligible. Obviously, this is not enough to finance all the costs of your stay, but it can be a great help !
On our website, you will find practical information under "Enseignement tertiaire": https://www.movetia.ch/fr/programmes/programme-suisse-pour-erasmus/enseignement-tertiaire/mobilite/
In the midst of negotiations for the country's reintegration into the Erasmus programme, Switzerland continues to welcome students from partner universities in Europe. If you want to try your luck, go for it! Here we give you all the practical information;

2. Other mobility grants
There are also scholarships outside the program: it is up to you to find out about the possibilities and procedures to follow ;

The Swiss tertiary institutions that are recognised by our programme submit their applications for grants to us every year (in March) to organise mobility within their institution. Incoming mobilities are also supported by our funds.
For mobility for students for study purposes and for mobility of professors for teaching purposes, interinstitutional agreements are mandatory. This is not the case for internships and mobility of an institution's staff.
If you are going on an exchange program, we suggest that you apply;
- the Departmental Council OR,
- Regional Council, OR
- the Town Hall -- of your parents' main residence.
These aids do not systematically cover the entire duration of the trip but can be useful.
Please note : some regions and/or departments do not offer this type of mobility grant and/or the amount differs from one department/region to another. To find out more, contact your Departmental Council or Regional Council directly.
The advantage of this aid: it is quite possible to combine several scholarships when you go abroad. Don't hesitate to inquire!
