**************

CASODOM, an association recognized as being of public utility working both as "Social Interlocutor of the Overseas Territories in France", and "Revealer of Overseas Talents", is organizing the eleventh session of the "Overseas Talents" in 2025. This operation, initiated in 2005, will take the form of the awarding of the "Prix des Talents de l'Outre-mer 2025" to people from the French Overseas Territories who have distinguished themselves by an exceptional career, in their territory, in France or in the world, whether this career is attested by an academic curriculum, or whether it is recognized in the exercise of an intellectual activity,  artistic or manual.

376 "Overseas Talents" have already been distinguished since 2005, which testify to the excellence of the overseas territories in their territories; in France or around the world, in all areas where human intelligence is manifested. They represent a potential for skills and a force of influence for all the Overseas Territories.

THE OBJECTIVES

• To give visibility to "Overseas Talents",

• To promote them and give them as models for the youth of the Overseas Territories,

• To give our fellow citizens a positive image of the Overseas Territories, while inspiring pride in their origins.

WHO CAN COMPETE?

• Any French national

• Originate, directly or by descent, from one of the French Overseas Territories, namely:

• The Overseas Departments and Regions (Guadeloupe, Réunion);

• The Single Territorial Collectivities (Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte);

• Overseas Collectivities (French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint-Barthélemy;

Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon);

• New Caledonia;

• The Southern and Antarctic Territories.

• Having had a track record of excellence in their territory, in France or around the world. The Selection Committee is also attentive to the merits demonstrated by the candidates in overcoming the difficulties they may have encountered.

The selection is open to all academic or artistic disciplines, as well as to all manual know-how. Only careers related to political, trade union or religious activities as well as high-level sport or show business are excluded. Particular attention will be paid to courses likely to encourage the return of candidates to their country and to be useful for the development of their territories, such as innovation and business creation, agricultural development and diversification, environmental issues, etc.

IN WHICH CATEGORY?

The selection is made on the basis of an application, in two categories:

• the "Young Talents" category: for graduates or young people who have been working for less than two years, as well as for students or apprentices at the end of their course, who can attest to a track record of excellence. The winners in this category receive a grant of €2,000

• the "Confirmed Talents" category: for candidates already recognized for their excellence in their professional environment.

The "Overseas Talents" of CASODOM are both a source of pride and an opportunity for the Overseas Territories!
