Scholarship granted by the French government
French government scholarship (Bourse du gouvernement français)
This scholarship, offered by the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut français d’Italie, is aimed at Master’s students undertaking a Franco-Italian dual degree.
Costs covered by the scholarship:
If selected, the student receives the status of French government scholarship holders (Boursier du gouvernment français) along with:
- a monthly grant of approximately €860 for the duration of one academic semester in France,
- social security and supplementary health insurance,
- priority access to CROUS accommodation.
To be eligible for the monthly grant, the study period in France must take place during the first or second semester of the 2026–2027 academic year.
This grant cannot be combined with any other grant awarded by a French ministry, nor with an Erasmus+ grant, nor with a grant from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, nor, as a general rule, with any grant funded by the European Union.
Application requirements:
To apply, candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree by the time of application or be due to complete it by 31 July. Award of the scholarship will be conditional upon acceptance onto a Franco-Italian double degree programme.
The scholarship holder’s programme must include a period of study in France during the first and/or second semester of the relevant academic year.
Priority will be given to programmes of excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), but applications from students outside these fields are also welcome.
