Merit-based scholarship from the Maroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports (MENPS)
Costs covered by the scholarship:
This scholarship is MAD 5000 per month during the laureate's studies in France.
Application requirements:
This scholarship is intended for Moroccan students who have completed their studies at a Moroccan or French CPGE preparatory school and have subsequently been admitted to ESSEC (which is a school eligible for this scholarship). As it is aimed at students from preparatory schools, only students on the Grande École – Pré-Master programme are eligible for this scholarship.
NB: if awarded, the scholarship must be renewed each academic year, usually between September and November.
Application submission and timetable:
Four steps are required to apply to the merit-based scholarship:
- between March and early September: submission of the ‘Concours Français’ (CF) form,
- between July and early September: submission of the scholarship application in digital format,
- between late August and mid-September: submission of the scholarship application in paper format,
- from mid-October: results begin to be published.
The Concours Français (CF) form must be completed on the eCPGE platform. It can be edited starting from mid-March and must be finalised by mid-July.
In addition to the Concours Français (CF) form, applicants are required to submit their eligibility results via this Google Form. The CF form will not be processed without the submission of the student's eligibility results.
The documents to be submitted during your application to the merit scholarship are:
- a copy of both sides of your Moroccan national identity card (in a single PDF file),
- your post-baccalaureate academic transcripts (in a single PDF file). Please note that the certificate for the previous academic year must not be dated before April,
- the results from your Baccalauréat,
- the document stating that you registered for the ESSEC entrance examinations (generated after March 15th).
You must also include the following with your application:
- the commitment form, which can be found on the application platform and must be completed and signed,
- a certificate of admission to ESSEC (an example of the required document is available at the bottom of this article, as an attachment).
Applications for the merit scholarship must first be submitted digitally via the eCPGE platform, then sent in hard copy from the end of August to the following address:

Social Security Grant (or Bourse de couverture sociale (BCS))
The Social Security Grant, or Bourse de couverture sociale (BCS) is awarded by the French Embassy in Morocco in partnership with the Maroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sport (MENPS). It is intended for Moroccan students studying in France. This scholarship covers for the duration of their course, i.e. three years. The BCS is awarded in addition to the merit-based grant mentioned above, which is awarded by the MENPS, and cannot be granted on its own.
Costs covered by the scholarship:
Once selected, the student receives the status of French government scholarship holders (Boursier du Government Français) along with:
- Exemption of visa fees,
- Exemption of Campus France Procedure fees,
- Access to additional health insurance ("mutuelle"),
- Access to the CROUS student accommodation (subject to availability).
Application requirements:
To be eligible, applicant must:
- be a Moroccan citizen only,
- have been enrolled in the second year of a CPGE programme in France or Morocco during the previous academic year,
- have been admitted to ESSEC/a Grande École de Commerce in France for the upcoming academic year,
- have been awarded the merit-based scholarship from the Maroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports (MENPS).
Application submission and timetable:
Applications for the BCS grant must be submitted via the cpge.ac.ma website at the same time as applications for the merit scholarship.
